Pakistan And China Agree To Strengthen Livestock Sector And Halal Meat Trade

ISLAMABAD: (Web Desk) – Pakistan and China have agreed to enhance cooperation in the livestock sector and increase halal meat exports, aiming to strengthen trade ties and promote growth in Pakistan’s agricultural economy.

The agreement was reached during a high-level meeting between a Chinese delegation and Federal Minister for National Food Security and Research Rana Tanveer Hussain.

During the discussions, both sides agreed on a range of joint measures to expand meat exports, improve production standards and modernize Pakistan’s livestock industry.

As part of the proposed collaboration, Pakistan will focus on developing modern slaughterhouses, advanced meat processing facilities and improved export infrastructure to meet international market requirements.

The two countries also discussed the adoption of modern technologies, stronger cold chain systems and improved product traceability to enhance the quality and competitiveness of Pakistani halal meat exports to China.

Speaking at the meeting, Rana Tanveer Hussain said Pakistan has significant livestock resources and the potential to supply high-quality halal meat to global markets.

He highlighted that the livestock sector plays an important role in the country’s agricultural economy by supporting value addition, generating rural employment and contributing to economic growth.

The Chinese delegation appreciated Pakistan’s livestock potential and expressed interest in cooperation in areas including meat processing, technology transfer and the development of export-related infrastructure.

Both sides agreed that expanded cooperation in the livestock sector would create new opportunities for trade, investment and sustainable economic development between Pakistan and China.
