CDA Accelerates Diplomatic Enclave Upgrade to Global Standards

ISLAMABAD: (Staff Reporter) – The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has stepped up work on a comprehensive upgrade of Islamabad’s Diplomatic Enclave, with the project aimed at bringing its infrastructure, security and overall appearance in line with international standards.

The ongoing initiative seeks to transform the diplomatic district into a more modern, secure, clean and environmentally attractive area while further enhancing Islamabad’s image as Pakistan’s federal capital.

Under the project, the CDA is focusing on infrastructure improvements, upgraded security arrangements, contemporary architectural features, landscaping, horticulture, better roads and footpaths, modern lighting and improved public spaces.

The Chairman CDA has instructed the Special Projects Directorate to carry out a comprehensive overhaul of the area, including construction of a new boundary wall and reinforcement of the existing security infrastructure.

Work currently underway includes the improvement of security gates and check posts, construction of a dedicated waiting facility, rehabilitation of roads and footpaths, allied civil works and architectural cladding.

Security measures are also being strengthened through upgraded boundary infrastructure, fencing, grills, razor wire and modern LED and security lighting designed to improve safety across the enclave.

The CDA is simultaneously focusing on the area’s landscaping and cleanliness. Tree trimming, new plantation and the improvement of green belts and medians are being undertaken to preserve and enhance Islamabad’s distinctive green character.

The project also includes better pedestrian facilities, improved illumination, upgraded roads and more organised public spaces. These improvements are expected to create a safer and more dignified environment for diplomats, residents, officials and visitors.

The CDA said the redevelopment is part of its broader vision of establishing Islamabad as a world-class, secure, green and professionally managed capital city.

Once completed, the upgraded Diplomatic Enclave is expected to present a more polished image of Pakistan to the international diplomatic community while providing improved facilities for diplomats, foreign delegations, investors, business representatives and other visitors.

Members of the diplomatic community have welcomed the initiative, appreciating the efforts to improve security, infrastructure, landscaping, cleanliness and the overall appearance of the enclave.

The project is being carried out under the vision of Federal Minister for Interior Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi and the leadership of the CDA chairman, with the authority describing the initiative as part of its commitment to reflecting Pakistan’s dignity and Islamabad’s distinctive character through modern international standards.
