CDA Chairman Reviews Development Progress in C-14, Sangjani

ISLAMABAD: (Staff Reporter) – Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA) and Chief Commissioner Islamabad conducted a detailed inspection of Sector C-14 and Sangjani Interchange, reviewing development activities, construction progress, quality standards and timelines for completion.

Senior CDA and Islamabad administration officials, including members of Building, Estate and Administration, the Director General Works, Director General Infrastructure, Chief Officer Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad, and Deputy Commissioner Islamabad, accompanied the chairman during the visit.

C-14 Development Reaches Major Milestone

During the visit to Sector C-14, officials briefed the CDA chairman on completed and ongoing development works.

Authorities said the basic infrastructure in the sector has been completed, while work to provide electricity has reached its final stage.

The installation of streetlights along major roads has also been completed, while signboards have been installed on the sector’s main roads and streets.

Meanwhile, landscaping and horticulture work is continuing along major roads to improve the area’s appearance and create a more attractive residential environment.

Possession of Developed Plots Begins

Officials informed the chairman that following the completion of major development works, the handover of possession of developed plots to allottees has formally begun.

The process for remaining allottees is also underway, with the CDA seeking to minimize administrative delays and facilitate citizens in taking possession of their plots.

The chairman directed the relevant departments to complete all outstanding development works on a priority basis and remove any obstacles affecting progress.

He also instructed officials to accelerate administrative and technical procedures related to the remaining plots and ensure that possession is handed over to allottees as quickly as possible.

The CDA chairman emphasized that development should not be limited to completing infrastructure. The ultimate objective, he said, is to provide citizens with functional and improved residential facilities.

He warned that unnecessary delays in handing over possession or completing related procedures would not be tolerated.

Residential Development a Priority

The chairman said meeting Islamabad’s growing residential requirements remains a key priority in line with the directions of the Prime Minister and Federal Minister for Interior.

He emphasized that while major infrastructure projects remain important, timely development of new residential sectors is equally essential for the city’s planned expansion.

According to the chairman, completing residential projects and providing modern urban facilities will help address the increasing demand for housing in the capital.

Sangjani Interchange Inspected

The CDA chairman later visited the Sangjani Interchange, where he conducted an on-site inspection of construction and development activities.

Officials briefed him on the progress of various components of the project and the expected completion timeline.

The chairman directed the concerned departments to accelerate construction work and ensure that the project is completed within the निर्धारित targets.

He stressed that speeding up a project must not come at the expense of construction standards. Quality, sustainability and long-term functionality, he said, must remain central to every development project.

He also ordered stronger field monitoring and instructed officials to immediately resolve problems emerging at construction sites.

Focus on Modern Islamabad

The chairman called for greater coordination among all relevant departments to ensure that administrative or technical obstacles do not slow development work.

He said Islamabad’s development is an ongoing process and that the CDA is using available resources to provide residents with modern infrastructure, improved housing facilities, a better urban environment and efficient civic services.

He reiterated that the authority would continue to give equal attention to sector development, infrastructure improvement, residential facilities and the prompt resolution of citizens’ concerns, alongside major development projects across the capital.
