ISLAMABAD: (Web Desk) – The Inter Board Committee of Chairmen (IBCC) has released nationwide statistics revealing that more than 400,000 students failed to pass intermediate examinations in 2025, raising concerns about academic performance across the country.
According to the data, Punjab recorded the highest number of unsuccessful candidates. Out of 759,431 students who appeared in exams across nine educational boards, around 270,068 failed to qualify.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, a total of 282,585 students from eight boards participated, with 5,316 unable to pass the exams.
Meanwhile, Sindh reported 53,034 failures out of 380,013 candidates who appeared through six educational boards.
In Quetta, 3,147 students failed out of 54,456 who took the exams under the provincial board.
Punjab Launches Crackdown on Cheating Mafia in Exams
The Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education reported 17,319 failures among 100,993 candidates.
Additionally, data indicated that 48,031 intermediate students appeared in another category of examinations, with all 48,031 reported as unsuccessful—figures that may require further clarification from authorities.
The statistics highlight significant disparities in academic outcomes across regions and underline the need for reforms to improve education standards and student performance nationwide.
