Fresh Monsoon Spell Expected To Bring Rain Across Punjab Including Lahore Today
LAHORE: (Staff Reporter) -A fresh monsoon weather system has entered Pakistan, bringing the possibility of light to heavy rainfall across most districts of Punjab, including Lahore, on Saturday.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), Lahore is expected to experience a mix of sunshine and clouds throughout the day, with light rain likely to begin after noon.
The city’s minimum temperature is expected to remain around 31°C, while the maximum could reach 39°C.
In response to the forecast, the Punjab Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has issued an alert to all district administrations, directing them to complete precautionary measures in low-lying and flood-prone areas to minimize the risk of urban flooding.
Meanwhile, WASA Lahore Managing Director Ghufran Ahmed has instructed all operational teams to remain on high alert and ensure a swift response during the expected rainfall.
He said officers and field staff will remain on duty until rainwater is completely cleared from major roads, highways and low-lying parts of the city.
Authorities have also advised citizens to avoid unnecessary travel during heavy rain and stay updated with the latest weather forecasts and official advisories.
