Muqeem’s Five-Fer Powers Pakistan to 10-Wicket Victory Over Zimbabwe in 2nd T20I
Pakistan’s dominant win not only sealed the series but also showcased their bowlers' brilliance and the explosive batting of their openers.
ISLAMABAD: Sufiyan Muqeem’s exceptional five-wicket haul, backed by a brilliant bowling performance from his teammates, guided Pakistan to a commanding 10-wicket victory over Zimbabwe in the second T20I at Queen Sports Club in Bulawayo on Tuesday, securing the series win.
Zimbabwe, who batted first, were bowled out for just 57 runs inside the 13th over, with Muqeem leading the charge with figures of 5 for 3. His clinical bowling dismantled Zimbabwe’s top order and left them struggling. The only resistance came from the opening partnership between Brian Bennett and Tadiwanashe Marumani, who put on 37 runs. However, after Marumani was dismissed for 16, the collapse began.
Abbas Afridi was instrumental in breaking the partnership, dismissing Marumani, and Zimbabwe’s batting crumbled from there. Bennett (21 off 14) fought briefly but fell shortly after. Dion Myers (3), Sikandar Raza (3), Ryan Burl (1), Clive Madande (2), and Tashinga Musekiwa (1) all failed to make significant contributions, as Zimbabwe’s batting crumbled under pressure.

Chasing a modest 58-run target, Pakistan’s openers, Saim Ayub (36 not out) and Omair Yousuf (22 not out), made light work of the chase. Ayub struck six boundaries and a six in his quick-fire 36 from just 18 balls, while Yousuf added two boundaries and a six in his 15-ball 22. Zimbabwe’s bowlers had no answers to the Pakistani onslaught, and the target was easily achieved without any wickets falling.
