Bangladesh – (Web Desk) – A deadly measles outbreak is spreading fast across Bangladesh. At least 206 children have lost their lives due to measles and measles-like symptoms. Another 3,065 children have been confirmed with measles infection so far.
The situation is even more alarming. Over 20,352 people are showing suspected measles symptoms across the country. The Health Emergency Operation Center of Bangladesh’s Health Department has confirmed these numbers.
Dhaka division is the worst-hit area. A total of 98 children have died in Dhaka alone. Among them, 20 deaths were confirmed measles cases. The remaining 78 deaths were linked to suspected measles symptoms.
Other divisions are also suffering badly. Rajshahi has recorded 68 child deaths due to this outbreak. Chittagong reported 16 deaths, while Khulna lost 10 children.
Smaller divisions are not safe either. Barisal recorded seven deaths and Sylhet reported five. The virus is spreading across every corner of the country.

Health authorities are working to control the crisis. Parents are urged to vaccinate their children immediately. Early treatment can save young lives.
Health experts say that not only measles, but also other infections are responsible for this situation. However, the positive side is that thousands of children are recovering despite this outbreak.
