Kuwait Reports Successful Interception of Hostile Aerial Attacks

US-Iran Tensions Continue Amid Regional Security Concerns

KUWAITI CITY: (Web Desk) – The State of Kuwait reported that its air defence systems intercepted “hostile missile and drone attacks” on Monday, triggering air raid sirens across the country amid rising regional tensions.

According to the Kuwaiti Army, the sounds of explosions heard in various areas were the result of defensive systems engaging and destroying incoming aerial threats. The military reassured citizens that the situation was under control.

The announcement was made through the army’s official communication channels, while state media agency KUNA confirmed that sirens had sounded nationwide despite reports of a ceasefire between the United States and Iran.

The incident comes at a time of heightened instability in the Gulf region, with ongoing diplomatic and military tensions involving Iran, the United States and allied regional actors.

Meanwhile, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated that discussions and message exchanges between Iran and the United States are still ongoing, reportedly through mediation channels involving Pakistan.

He said that speculation about the negotiations remains premature, stressing that no conclusions should be drawn until concrete results are achieved.

Araghchi added that media reports surrounding the talks are largely speculative and that developments should be assessed only once formal agreements are reached.

Separately, the United States has reportedly proposed a de-escalation roadmap aimed at reducing hostilities in Lebanon.

According to diplomatic sources, the proposal involves a mutual reduction in hostilities, where Hezbollah would halt attacks on Israel in exchange for Israel refraining from further escalation, particularly in Beirut.

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has reportedly held separate discussions with Lebanese President Joseph Aoun and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as part of efforts to advance the proposed framework.

The initiative is aimed at creating conditions for a gradual de-escalation and ultimately achieving a comprehensive cessation of hostilities in the region.
