Karachi Stadium Set to be Fully Upgraded After PSL 2025
Stadium Access, Parking to Be Revamped for Smoother PSL Experience
KARACHI: The iconic National Stadium in Karachi is set for a much-needed makeover, and reports confirm that it will undergo significant upgrades following PSL 2025.
According to reports, re-profiling of all stands will begin immediately before a comprehensive redevelopment project is set in motion, with the aim of modernizing the venue to meet the growing demands of top-level cricket and elevate the fan experience to global standards.
One of Pakistan’s most storied cricket grounds and a regular host of PSL matches, the National Stadium has long been in need of upgrades both in and around the facility. Karachi has seen very low spectator turnout during PSL 2025 once again, with many blaming the fan experience as one of the reasons people have avoided watching the matches in person.
Now, stakeholders are moving swiftly to ensure the facility reflects the goal of making cricket more accessible.
According to early reports, the stadium’s architecture is set to undergo a significant transformation. The re-profiling includes an overhaul of seating stands, introducing a more comfortable, spacious layout with improved sightlines and aesthetics.
Entry and exit plans are also being redesigned. The new layout will focus on crowd flow management, safety, and efficiency, aiming to reduce bottlenecks and ensure smoother experiences for spectators. Parking will also see a major facelift, with plans for convenient access and designated zones to handle the match-day rush—an ongoing issue during PSL seasons.
