Karachi exam paper leak sparks fresh controversy
Karachi education boards face backlash over repeated paper leaks
KARACHI: (Web Desk) – Concerns over examination integrity have resurfaced in Karachi as reports emerged that the Intermediate English paper was allegedly leaked before the exam even began, raising serious questions about the effectiveness of the examination system.
The Board of Intermediate Education Karachi has acknowledged the incident and said that an investigation is underway to determine the source and location of the leak. Officials stated that strict action will be taken against those found involved in compromising the examination process.
Despite these assurances, the board has faced criticism for its repeated failure to prevent cheating and paper leaks during major examinations, leading to growing public concern among students and parents.

Earlier, an inquiry into the Secondary School Certificate (matric) examinations highlighted significant irregularities within the Board of Secondary Education Karachi. The report pointed to the relocation of more than 170 examination centres during the exams, along with allegations of leaked papers, widespread cheating, and administrative mismanagement.
The findings were compiled by a special committee formed on the instructions of the Sindh Minister for Boards and Universities, Ismail Rahu, and have been submitted to the ministry for further action.
The recently concluded matric examinations in Karachi had already been marred by complaints of paper leaks, bribery allegations, and systemic breakdowns, raising continued concerns about fairness and transparency in the examination process.
