DEA Warns Private Schools Over Free Education Quota
Lahore DEA Orders Schools to Submit Free Education Quota Records Immediately
LAHORe: (Web Desk) – The District Education Authority (DEA) Lahore has issued a final notice to private schools, directing them to submit records of students admitted under the mandatory 10% free education quota for disadvantaged children.
According to the authority, all private schools are required to reserve at least 10% of seats in every class for children from low-income and underprivileged families in line with the Punjab Free and Compulsory Education Rules 2024.
Schools have been given three days to submit complete admission records under the quota in both hard and soft copy formats.
The DEA has warned that institutions failing to provide the required data or comply with the mandatory quota may face legal and administrative action, including fines and the suspension of their registration.
Private schools have also been instructed to submit class-wise details of students receiving free education along with supporting evidence to demonstrate compliance with the regulations.
The education authority said the move is intended to safeguard every child’s right to education and ensure that eligible children from disadvantaged backgrounds receive free access to quality schooling. It added that strict action will be taken against schools that fail to implement the quota or withhold admission records.
