Journalist Claims Ram Gopal Varma Urmila Secretly Married

Mumbai: (Showbiz Desk) – Veteran filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma and actress Urmila Matondkar have returned to the spotlight after an Indian entertainment journalist made claims about their alleged secret marriage during their widely reported relationship in the 1990s.

Speaking on a YouTube channel, senior journalist Jyothi Venkatesh claimed that the two had reportedly tied the knot in a private ceremony. He said he first heard about the alleged marriage from actor Chiranjeevi during a meeting related to the film Gentleman.

Venkatesh alleged that the ceremony took place at a temple in Andhra Pradesh and claimed he was provided details of the priest who supposedly conducted the rituals. He said he contacted Urmila Matondkar before publishing the report, but according to him, the actress denied the claim and became emotional during the conversation.

The journalist also claimed that he approached Ram Gopal Varma for a response, but the filmmaker chose not to comment. He further alleged that differences over formalising the relationship contributed to their reported separation.

Ram Gopal Varma and Urmila Matondkar worked together in several notable films, including Rangeela, Daud, Satya, and Pyaar Tune Kya Kiya. However, neither of them has publicly confirmed the alleged marriage.
