Israeli Strikes Kill 14 Across Southern Lebanon
Hezbollah Targets Israeli Troops as Tensions Escalate
Beirut: (Web Desk) – Israeli airstrikes across southern Lebanon killed at least 14 people on Monday, according to Lebanon’s Health Ministry, as regional tensions remained high following Iran’s warning of renewed retaliation if attacks on Lebanon continue.
Among the dead were seven people killed after Tehran cautioned that it could launch further strikes against Israel should Israeli military operations persist. Meanwhile, Hezbollah said it had targeted Israeli soldiers operating inside Lebanese territory but did not announce any attacks against locations inside Israel.
A strike near a Lebanese Red Cross center in the southern city of Tyre killed five people and injured eight others, including four Red Cross paramedics, the Health Ministry reported. Another attack in Marwanieh claimed two lives, one of them a child, while leaving ten others wounded.
The strike in Tyre occurred shortly after both Israel and Iran indicated that a recent exchange of retaliatory attacks had concluded. However, Iran warned that any continued military action in Lebanon could trigger a stronger response.
Earlier in the day, an Israeli strike on Zifta in the Nabatieh district killed seven people, including a Syrian child and a woman, Lebanese officials said.

Lebanon’s state-run National News Agency reported that a missile struck a vehicle near the Lebanese Red Cross building in Tyre. Witnesses described scenes of chaos as emergency crews rushed to the burning vehicle and nearby residents gathered at the site.
Israeli air raids reportedly hit more than a dozen locations across southern Lebanon from the early hours of Monday. Lebanese cultural authorities also said that bombardment the previous day caused damage to a UNESCO World Heritage site in Tyre.
Iran’s military command warned that any further aggression, particularly in southern Lebanon, would be met with what it described as a more severe response. Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz dismissed the threat, pledging continued military operations against Hezbollah and warning of further strikes in Beirut’s southern suburbs if attacks on northern Israel continue.
The Israeli military later issued an evacuation notice for parts of Tyre before carrying out additional strikes in the area.
Iran has repeatedly argued that ending the broader regional conflict requires a ceasefire in Lebanon. On Sunday, Tehran launched missiles toward Israel following Israeli strikes on Beirut’s southern suburbs.
Hezbollah said Monday that it carried out several operations against Israeli troops inside southern Lebanon. Israeli forces reported intercepting three projectiles launched from Lebanon, stating that the munitions were aimed at troops operating near the border.
Lebanese authorities say more than 3,600 people have been killed in Israeli strikes since Hezbollah entered the conflict on March 2, launching rockets toward Israel in response to the killing of Iran’s supreme leader in a joint U.S.-Israeli operation.
Following a ceasefire agreement reached on April 17, Israel established a security zone known as the Yellow Line inside Lebanese territory, extending roughly 12 kilometers north of the border, where Israeli ground operations are currently underway.
