Tehran, (Special Correspondent);Iran’s Supreme Leader Orders Attack on Israel After Haniyeh Killing,There is a new escalation of tensions as Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has instructed for direct fire to Israel in retaliation against the killing of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran, according to US media channels.
As reported by The New York Times, Khamenei gave the order at an emergency meeting of the Supreme National Security Council of Iran. They state that this information was given by three Iranian officials who included two Revolutionary Guards members.
The council took place to discuss ways on how to respond the killing of Haniyeh; which has been accused on Israel by Iran. Reportedly, Khamenei ordered the country’s armed forces to be prepared for a direct attack on Israel: thus marking a policy change in Iran.
Iran had previously concentrated its efforts on supporting proxy groups such as Hamas and Hezbollah in their fight against Israel rather than confronting it directly. However, Haniyeh’s murder may have gone beyond what Iranian leaders can accept or tolerate.
The sources emphasized that the directive was explicit – instead of utilizing intermediary bodies, Tehran would strike at Israel itself. While details about this attack were not specified but they are said to be getting ready.
