A DSP leads a team and takes responsibility for the safety of others. When such an officer falls in the field, the entire force feels the pain. It also shows that senior officers stand on the front line with their men.
Sub-Inspector Afzal Awan, Havaldar Kazim and Head Constable Amjad served in the same spirit. Each of them wore the uniform with pride and paid the highest price for it.
Search operations are a routine and risky part of police work. Officers go into such missions knowing that danger can appear at any moment. Still, they do the job to protect people.
The families of the four martyrs are now facing a huge loss. Their grief is shared by colleagues and citizens who value the service of the police.
Police in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have faced many attacks while fighting terrorism. Each martyr leaves behind a story of courage and duty. The names of Imran Ud Din Khan, Afzal Awan, Kazim and Amjad will be remembered with respect.
The killing of two terrorists shows that police responded strongly when attacked. Still, the price paid was heavy.
