iPhone Ultra Liquid Metal Hinge Changes Everything
Apple's iPhone Ultra Liquid Metal Hinge Leak Explained
iPhone – (Web Desk) – Apple is getting closer to launching its first foldable phone. The iPhone Ultra liquid metal hinge is now one of the most talked-about features of this upcoming device. A well-known Chinese leaker called Fixed Focus Digital shared on Weibo that Apple plans to use a special metal alloy in the hinge to make it stronger and longer-lasting.
This type of metal, also known as bulk metallic glass, is different from regular metals. It does not have a crystal structure inside, which makes it more flexible and much harder to damage over time. In simple words, the hinge will stay smooth and tight even after you open and close the phone thousands of times.
Apple also plans to use an improved titanium frame for the body. This keeps the phone light but strong at the same time.
One big reason this hinge matters is the crease problem. Most foldable phones today show a visible line in the middle of the screen. Apple’s liquid metal hinge design may help reduce or even remove that crease, which would be a huge step forward.
Reports suggest the iPhone Ultra will have a 7.8-inch inner screen and a 5.5-inch outer screen. It will likely run on Apple’s A20 chip and use the new C2 modem.
Face ID will probably not be included because the phone is too thin to fit the required sensors. Instead, Apple may bring back Touch ID, possibly placed on a side button that works whether the phone is open or closed.
Apple has already sent prototype units to phone carriers around the world for testing. This is a strong sign that the phone is close to being ready. A launch in late 2026 or early 2027 looks very possible.
