Imran Khan Jail Reforms Should Start From Adiala: CM

KP CM Sohail Afridi Calls for Imran Khan Jail Reforms at Adiala

CM KP – (Web Desk) – Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi has called for Imran Khan jail reforms, saying real change must start from Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi.

He spoke at a special session held at the Supreme Court of Pakistan. The session focused on jail reforms across the country.

CM Afridi said a proper waiting area should be built for people who visit the jail. He said families should not have to stand outside for hours.

Talking about Imran Khan, the PTI founder, Afridi said his health was getting worse day by day. He claimed Khan was placed behind bars in false cases.

Afridi asked the court to let Imran Khan see his own doctors. He said outside medical care was needed for proper treatment.

The KP CM also spoke about public rallies. He said other democratic countries allow people to hold rallies freely. In Pakistan, he said, police often file an FIR instead.

He added that even young children have faced terrorism charges just for joining political rallies. He called this unfair and harsh.

CM Afridi also asked that Imran Khan be allowed to talk to his sons through a video call. He said this basic right should not be denied.

In an emotional appeal to the Chief Justice, Afridi said if a full meeting cannot be arranged, then at least water cannons should not be used against Khan’s sisters.

His statement has added more pressure on the ongoing debate around prison rights and treatment of political prisoners in Pakistan.
