The cargo volume included 96,511 metric tonnes of imports and 61,157 metric tonnes of exports, reflecting the port’s continued role in facilitating Pakistan’s international trade and supply chains.
According to the KPT, containerised cargo accounted for 80,862 metric tonnes of the total, while bulk cargo stood at 36,074 tonnes and liquid cargo amounted to 35,540 tonnes.
During the reporting period, 20 ships remained berthed at Karachi Port, while six vessels departed. Another five ships were anchored in the outer harbour, the port authority said.
The KPT expects 27 ships to arrive at the port between October 17 and 18. No vessel departures are scheduled during the same period, according to the authority.
Karachi Port remains a key gateway for Pakistan’s imports and exports, handling a significant share of the country’s maritime trade and supporting the movement of goods through its supply chains.
