ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) – The Inter-Boards Coordination Commission (IBCC) has finalized software for online e-marking to be implemented across all educational boards in Pakistan, including Punjab, 24NewsHD reported on Monday.

Under the pilot project, e-marking will initially be conducted for the computer subject paper. Once the pilot phase is successfully completed, all papers will be evaluated digitally through e-marking.

Punjab 8th Grade Board Exams Begin March 9

Earlier, on February 20, 2026, the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Lahore announced major reforms in its examination procedures aimed at enhancing transparency, accountability, and fairness.

These changes respond to numerous complaints regarding mismanagement of practical examinations, including irregular marking practices and insufficient oversight during lab assessments. To address these issues, centralized marking has been introduced for 9th-class practical exams, making practical assessments a mandatory part of student evaluation.

CCTV cameras will now be installed in laboratories to monitor exams and prevent unfair practices, promoting discipline and transparency. Additionally, an e-marking system has been launched for theory papers, where students will write on special e-sheets that are scanned and converted into digital format for evaluation.
