Drone Attack From Lebanon Hits Northern Israel Amid Rising Tensions

Northern Israel: (Web Desk) – The Israeli military said two drones, allegedly launched from Lebanon by the militant group Hezbollah, struck northern Israel on Sunday, though no casualties were reported.

The military stated that “two impacts of suspicious aerial targets” were identified near the Israel–Lebanon border, confirming that no injuries or damage-related casualties occurred.

The incident comes amid heightened cross-border tensions between Israel and Hezbollah, with both sides exchanging periodic strikes since the escalation of regional conflict.

Following the drone strikes, two far-right Israeli ministers called for strong retaliatory action against Beirut’s southern suburbs, known as Dahiyeh, a major Hezbollah stronghold.

Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich urged the government to intensify its response, referencing what he described as the “Dahiyeh doctrine” and calling for the destruction of buildings in the area.

Separately, National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir wrote on social media that every drone attack should be met with forceful retaliation, including strikes targeting Dahiyeh.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has previously warned that Israel would respond militarily if Hezbollah targets northern Israeli communities, maintaining that such actions would be met with strong countermeasures.

The situation highlights continuing volatility along the Israel–Lebanon border, where sporadic drone and missile exchanges have raised fears of wider escalation.
