Haji Gulbar Khan Meets MQM Leaders, Discusses Education and Healthcare
Free Lab and Dialysis Center Lauded: Gilgit-Baltistan CM Appreciates Healthcare Initiatives,
Karachi-Gilgit-Baltistan Chief Minister Haji Gulbar Khan, along with Provincial Minister Haji Rehmat Khaliq and Special Assistant Hussain Shah, visited the Muttahida Qaumi Movement Pakistan’s central office, where they were welcomed by Federal Minister for Education and Science and Technology Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, Member National Assembly Farooq Sattar, and other senior leaders. The Chief Minister expressed gratitude towards Farooq Sattar for advocating for Gilgit-Baltistan’s interests in the National Assembly and acknowledged MQM’s commitment to supporting the underprivileged.
During the meeting, Khan highlighted the urgent need to fill 400 teacher vacancies in SAP schools, emphasizing the importance of federal government cooperation. He also stressed the necessity of establishing IT campuses in KIU Gilgit and Baltistan University Skardu to provide youth with access to modern technology and sciences. The Federal Minister assured that these issues would be prioritized.
Separately, the Chief Minister visited the Free Lab and Dialysis Center, invited by founder Zafar Abbas, who briefed him on the organization’s healthcare and welfare initiatives. Abbas mentioned that despite facing challenges, the organization has made significant strides in providing free testing facilities to the poor using advanced medical equipment. Khan appreciated their efforts and encouraged JDC to establish centers in Gilgit-Baltistan’s districts to provide modern testing facilities, offering provincial government support. Abbas plans to visit Gilgit-Baltistan to discuss further recommendations
