Finance Minister Aurangzeb , IFFCO Delegation Discuss Investment Expansion in Pakistan

IFFCO to Expand Business, Investment Operations in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: (Finance Reporter) –  Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb met a delegation of International Foodstuffs Company (IFFCO) at the Finance Division on Monday, with discussions focusing on expanding investment and facilitating business activity in Pakistan.

The delegation was led by IFFCO Global Group Director Abdelghani Abdullah and IFFCO Pakistan CEO Arshaduddin Ahmed. Muhammad Jawad, CFO of IFFCO Pakistan, Khalil Ahmed Awan, Head of the Protocol Department at the UAE Embassy, and Kanwal Asim, Economic Researcher at the UAE Embassy, also attended the meeting.

Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb welcomed the delegation and appreciated IFFCO’s longstanding investment in Pakistan, particularly its contribution to the food and manufacturing sectors. He also acknowledged the company’s role in supporting employment, local manufacturing and allied industries.

Abdelghani Abdullah briefed the minister on IFFCO’s global operations and its longstanding presence in Pakistan. He said the UAE-headquartered multinational operates in around 50 countries, with a diversified portfolio covering food manufacturing, edible oils and fats, confectionery, dairy, agriculture, poultry and animal nutrition.

He said Pakistan remains an important market for IFFCO and reaffirmed the group’s intention to further expand its business and investment footprint in the country.

The delegation also highlighted IFFCO Pakistan’s operations and investment history. The company has been operating in Pakistan since 2006 and has invested around US$100 million, expanding from a single edible oil and fats refinery to two refineries and five manufacturing sites.

IFFCO Pakistan has also diversified into seed crushing, animal nutrition and feed mills, contributing to employment, local value addition and the wider food supply chain.

The delegation expressed interest in further investment in Pakistan, citing the growth potential of the country’s industrial and food sectors. It noted that IFFCO supplies products to major companies operating in Pakistan and sees opportunities to expand alongside its customers and the broader economy.

The finance minister welcomed IFFCO’s plans for further investment and assured the delegation of the government’s continued support. He stressed the need to facilitate existing investors while creating an environment that encourages new investment, industrial growth, employment and greater value addition within Pakistan.

Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb also appreciated the UAE Embassy’s support in strengthening economic and commercial ties between Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates. He described Pakistan-UAE relations as longstanding and strategic and expressed confidence that bilateral economic and investment cooperation would continue to grow.

Abdelghani Abdullah appreciated the government’s support and reaffirmed IFFCO’s long-term commitment to Pakistan. He highlighted the group’s contribution to employment, local manufacturing and the broader food ecosystem, expressing confidence in further strengthening the company’s operations and investment presence in the country.
