Jinhua Qinggan Granules Clinical Trial Concludes at Karachi University

KARACHI: (News Desk) – The closing ceremony of a clinical trial on a Chinese medicine was held simultaneously in China and at the Center for Bioequivalence Studies and Clinical Research (CBSCR), Dr. Panjwani Center for Molecular Medicine and Drug Research (PCMD), University of Karachi.

The study focused on evaluating the efficacy and safety of Jinhua Qinggan Granules (JHQG) for the treatment of acute upper respiratory tract infection (AURI). The trial was also aimed at generating scientific evidence to support the registration of the Chinese medicine.

Addressing the closing ceremony in China, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Raza Shah, Director of the International Center for Chemical and Biological Sciences (ICCBS), University of Karachi, underscored the importance of clinical trials in serving national interests.

He said the study was conducted as a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trial to assess the efficacy and safety of Jinhua Qinggan Granules among patients suffering from acute upper respiratory tract infections.

Prof. Dr. Muhammad Raza Shah highlighted the collaborative nature of the research and said the findings would contribute to strengthening scientific evidence regarding the use of Chinese medicine for AURI.
