Field marshal praises troops on LoC for ‘avenging’ killings of civilians
Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir visited forward positions along the Line of Control (LoC) on Eid-ul-Azha to spend the occasion with frontline troops.
According to a statement issued by Inter-Services Public Relations, the army chief began his visit by offering Eid prayers with officers and soldiers deployed in the area. Special prayers were offered for the country’s enduring peace, stability, and prosperity, as well as for the martyrs who laid down their lives in defense of Pakistan.
Extending heartfelt Eid greetings, COAS Asim Munir lauded the troops for their “unwavering commitment, professional excellence, and steadfast service” in the face of challenges. “Celebrating Eid on the frontline away from their families serves the superior national purpose of defending the motherland,” he remarked. The COAS paid tribute to the soldiers and officers who embraced martyrdom during the recent military operation — Marqa-e-Haq Operation Bunyan-un-Marsoos. “You have befittingly avenged the loss of lives of innocent Pakistani civilians, including children, women, and the elderly, through your bold and effective response,” the ISPR quoted the field marshal as having said.
During his interaction with troops, Field Marshal Munir appreciated their high morale, exceptional operational readiness, and vigilance in responding effectively to Indian ceasefire violations. He reiterated full confidence in the battle preparedness of the Pakistan Army to thwart and decisively defeat any aggression.
He also reaffirmed Pakistan’s steadfast moral, diplomatic, and political support for the people of Indian-occupied Jammu and Kashmir. “The just and valiant struggle of the Kashmiri people against illegal occupation will never be forgotten,” the army chief said.
He emphasized that the resolution of the Kashmir dispute must align with the aspirations of the Kashmiri people and the United Nations Security Council resolutions.
Upon arrival, the COAS was received by the Rawalpindi Corps commander and was briefed on the operational preparedness and security situation in the region.
