Dubai’s ruling family mourns Sheikh Ahmed bin Rashid Al Maktoum

Dubai: (News Desk) – Sheikh Ahmed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Chairman of Dubai Police and Public Security, has passed away at the age of 76.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, expressed deep sorrow over the death of his younger brother and paid tribute to him in a message shared on X.

Sheikh Mohammed prayed for mercy for Sheikh Ahmed, saying his brother would continue to remain in the hearts and prayers of his family despite his passing. He also prayed for his place in Paradise and asked God to grant patience and strength to his family and loved ones.

Sheikh Ahmed was the fourth and youngest son of Dubai’s former ruler, Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum, who governed the emirate from 1958 until his death in 1990. He was also the youngest brother of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid.

Sheikh Hamdan Mourns Uncle

Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence, also expressed grief over the death of his uncle.

Sheikh Hamdan said Sheikh Ahmed would continue to be remembered in the hearts and prayers of people across Dubai and the UAE. He prayed for divine mercy for his uncle and for his admission to Paradise.

He also asked for patience and comfort for Sheikh Ahmed’s family and the people of Dubai and the wider UAE.

The death of Sheikh Ahmed marks the loss of a senior member of Dubai’s ruling Al Maktoum family, with condolences and tributes coming from the UAE’s senior leadership.
