Dattatreya Hosabale Pakistan Dialogue Call Backed by Ex-Army Chief Naravane

Dattatreya Hosabale Pakistan Dialogue Push Sparks Political Storm

Pakistan vs India – (Web Desk) – Dattatreya Hosabale Pakistan dialogue call has stirred fresh debate across India. RSS General Secretary Dattatreya Hosabale stated that India must always keep the door open for talks with Pakistan, including maintaining diplomatic ties, trade, and visa exchanges.

Hosabale pointed to former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s historic Lahore bus visit as proof that engagement is possible even during hard times. He also noted that Prime Minister Modi once invited Pakistan to his oath-taking ceremony, showing that outreach has been a consistent part of Indian diplomacy.

Former Indian Army Chief Manoj Mukund Naravane supported this view. He said that ordinary people on both sides of the border share the same daily struggles. When common people build friendships, it slowly helps governments build better relations too.

India and Pakistan have had a largely frozen relationship for several years. The two countries fought a brief 87-hour conflict in May 2025, which ended with a US-brokered ceasefire on May 10. During that conflict, Pakistan claimed to have downed eight Indian aircraft, including four Rafale jets.

The Congress party and other opposition groups strongly criticised the RSS stance, arguing it was the wrong time to talk about dialogue given the recent military tensions.

Despite the criticism, both Hosabale and Naravane believe that keeping communication channels open is not a sign of weakness. It is simply smart and responsible statecraft between two nuclear-armed neighbours.
