Chinese Premier Li Qiang to Visit Saudi Arabia and UAE This Week

Chinese Premier Li Qiang is set to visit Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates this week, according to an announcement from Beijing’s foreign ministry on Monday. From September 10 to 13, Premier Li will oversee the Fourth Meeting of the High-Level Chinese-Saudi Joint Committee in Saudi Arabia and then continue his visit to the UAE, as stated by ministry spokesperson Mao Ning.
China, which is itself an oil producer, has traditionally imported significant amounts of crude oil from the Middle East and has been actively working to enhance its influence in the region in recent years. Last year, China played a crucial role in brokering a landmark reconciliation between Saudi Arabia and Iran.

China has also positioned itself as a more neutral party in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict compared to the United States, supporting a two-state solution while maintaining strong relations with Israel.
