CDA Okays 37 Commercial Projects in Islamabad

CDA Approves Major Commercial Developments Covering Nearly 6.7 Million Square Feet

ISLAMABAD: (Staff Reporter) – The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has approved 37 commercial projects in the federal capital after reviewing 42 proposals.

The CDA’s Design Waiting Committee held seven meetings to examine the projects and assess them under the applicable building regulations.

Of the 42 projects reviewed, 37 received approval, while the remaining five projects are still under consideration.

According to officials, the approved developments have a combined covered area of approximately 6.69 million square feet. The projects include commercial buildings, apartment complexes and mixed-use developments.

The approved construction is expected to add 721 new commercial projects in Islamabad, including around 1,981 residential flats.

The CDA has also approved plans for the construction of five mosques and a school building as part of the development projects.

Officials said the approvals were granted in accordance with the ICT Building Control Regulations 2023, ensuring that the proposed developments meet the prescribed construction and planning requirements.
