Balochistan Relaxes Restrictions on Intra-District Teacher Transfers

Balochistan Revises Teacher Transfer Policy, Allows Intra-District Postings

QUETTA: (Our Correspondent) – The Balochistan government has eased restrictions on the transfer and posting of teachers, allowing teaching staff to move between schools within their respective districts.

The School Education Department issued a notification outlining the revised transfer policy. Under the new rules, teachers can be transferred within the same district, while the existing ban on inter-district transfers of Secondary School Teachers (SSTs), headmasters and headmistresses will remain in place.

The department has also permitted surplus teachers currently posted in Quetta to return to their respective native districts. However, the notification clarified that teachers cannot be transferred from Quetta to another district or from any other district to Quetta.

Teachers awaiting postings have been instructed to submit applications to their relevant District Education Officer (DEO) within one month.

The department further stated that all transfers must be made against vacant and sanctioned positions. Officials or individuals found violating the revised policy will face disciplinary action.

The changes are intended to streamline teacher postings within districts while maintaining restrictions on inter-district transfers for key teaching and administrative positions.
