BOSTON: (News Desk) – An air ambulance carrying six people has crashed into the Atlantic Ocean while en route from Bermuda to Boston, Massachusetts, officials confirmed.

The US Coast Guard deployed helicopters, aircraft and boats to search the waters off Nantucket. The search operation continued late into Saturday night.

The Coast Guard later confirmed that debris recovered from the sea off Nantucket belonged to the missing aircraft. Officials said the plane descended approximately 9,000 feet in just two minutes before briefly stabilizing at a lower altitude and subsequently disappearing from radar.

According to officials, the pilot had declared an emergency before the crash. The scattered debris found in the water suggested that the aircraft may have struck the sea at high speed.
