King Charles To Host Pakistan Cricket Team At Clarence

LONDON: (Sports Desk) – The Pakistan men’s Test cricket team is set to meet King Charles III this week during its ongoing tour of England, with Buckingham Palace confirming that the monarch will host the players at Clarence House.

According to Buckingham Palace, the King, in his role as Head of the Commonwealth, will receive the Pakistan team in the gardens of Clarence House during the break between the second and third Tests of the summer series.

“His Majesty the King, as Head of the Commonwealth, will receive the Pakistan Men’s Test Cricket Team for an audience in the gardens of Clarence House,” Buckingham Palace said in a statement.

The meeting is expected to last around 15 minutes, with the King scheduled to meet players and members of the team management.

The engagement was arranged before the Test series began and forms part of the monarch’s official programme during Pakistan’s stay in England.

Mohsin Naqvi’s Attendance Unclear

It remains unclear whether Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi will attend the meeting.

Naqvi, who also serves as Pakistan’s interior minister, could accompany the team as part of the official delegation, although his attendance has not yet been confirmed.

Pakistan Continue Test Campaign

The royal engagement comes as Pakistan continue their Test series against England. The team returned to action in the second Test after the opening match of the three-Test series.

The meeting also comes ahead of England’s upcoming tour of Pakistan. England are scheduled to visit Pakistan in October for a one-day tri-series featuring the hosts and Sri Lanka.
