Punjab Colleges to Introduce Online Admissions From 2027

Manual College Admissions to End Across Punjab Next Year

LAHORE: (Staff Reporter)  -The Punjab Education Department has decided to end manual admissions at colleges across the province, with the entire admission process set to move online from 2027.

Director Public Instruction (DPI) Punjab Dr Ansar Azhar said the move is part of the Punjab government’s broader paperless policy aimed at shifting educational services to digital platforms.

Under the new system, colleges will no longer issue printed prospectuses or admission forms. Students will instead complete the admission process electronically through the designated online system.

Dr Ansar Azhar said the payment of college fees has also been shifted to online channels, eliminating the need for students and parents to visit colleges and wait in long queues for routine payments.

He urged students and parents to adopt the digital system and make use of online services rather than relying on traditional paper-based procedures.

The DPI Punjab said fee payments are already being processed online, while other admission-related procedures will also be digitised from the next academic year.

The initiative is expected to reduce paperwork, simplify the admissions process and support the Punjab government’s efforts to establish a more efficient and paperless education system.
