Hunter Biden Reveals Further Spread of Father’s Cancer

WASHINGTON: (News Desk) – Former US President Joe Biden’s cancer has spread further, according to his son Hunter Biden, who provided an update on his father’s condition during a recent interview with the BBC.

Biden revealed in May 2025, around four months after leaving office, that he had been diagnosed with an aggressive form of prostate cancer that had already spread to his bones.

The former president subsequently underwent treatment, including radiation and hormone therapy. He said last month that the treatment was progressing well while announcing plans for an upcoming memoir.

However, speaking to BBC Newsnight, Hunter Biden said his father’s cancer had continued to spread despite treatment.

Hunter described the condition as painful and debilitating but said his father remained active and deeply committed to the United States. He became emotional at several points while discussing his father’s health, describing it as extremely difficult and sad to witness.

Biden’s health had been a major issue during his presidency, particularly because he was the oldest person ever to serve as US president. At 81, he sought another term in the 2024 presidential election.

However, following a widely criticised debate performance against Donald Trump in June 2024 and mounting pressure from members of his own Democratic Party, Biden ended his re-election campaign.

Vice President Kamala Harris subsequently became the Democratic nominee but was defeated by Trump in the November 2024 election.
