Pakistan Showcases Premium Mangoes at Singapore Mango Festival

SINGAPORE: (Staff Reporter) – Pakistan showcased its world-renowned mangoes at a special Mango Festival organized by the Pakistan High Commission in Singapore as part of celebrations marking 60 years of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and Singapore.

Singapore’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Zhulkarnain Abdul Rahim, attended the event as Guest of Honour. The festival brought together government officials, diplomats, business representatives, media professionals and members of the Pakistani-Singaporean community.

Guests were treated to premium Pakistani mango varieties, including the popular Chaunsa and Sensation, through a specially curated menu highlighting their distinctive taste, aroma and quality.

Addressing the gathering, Pakistan’s High Commissioner to Singapore, Rabia Shafiq, praised the exceptional quality of Pakistani mangoes and said the High Commission uses such cultural events to introduce Singaporeans to Pakistan’s diverse heritage, hospitality and cuisine.

She said the festival was aimed at strengthening people-to-people ties while creating a platform that brings together culture, commerce and cuisine as Pakistan and Singapore celebrate six decades of diplomatic relations.

A short film titled “Salam Pakistan” was also screened, showcasing Pakistan’s scenic landscapes, tourist destinations and cultural heritage. A cake-cutting ceremony was held as part of the celebrations.

Participants expressed appreciation for the quality of Pakistani mangoes, particularly their rich aroma, smooth texture and naturally sweet flavour.

The festival also provided an opportunity to promote Pakistan’s agricultural exports in Singapore and explore opportunities for expanding bilateral trade. The event highlighted the longstanding friendship and partnership between Pakistan and Singapore over the past six decades.
