Trump Hopes Iran Deal Signed This Weekend — But Tehran Is Not Ready
Trump says the Trump Iran deal signed this weekend, but Iran isn't so sure
Trump vs Iran – (Web Desk) – President Donald Trump surprised the world this week. He told reporters at the White House that the United States had reached a peace agreement with Iran. He even said the Trump Iran deal signed this weekend could happen in Europe, with Vice President JD Vance signing on behalf of the U.S.
But Iran quickly pushed back.
Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Esmaeil Baghaei, told the media that large parts of the agreement text have been worked on. However, he made one thing very clear — no final decision has been made.
He said the matter is still being reviewed by Iran’s top decision-making bodies. That means nothing is officially confirmed from the Iranian side.
Trump told reporters the deal would stop Iran from ever building a nuclear weapon. He described it as a strong memorandum of understanding. He also said countries like Israel, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the UAE have given their approval.
However, Israel’s Prime Minister Netanyahu later clarified that Israel is not a direct party to the agreement.
The conflict between the U.S. and Iran has now lasted three months. Thousands of lives have been lost. Global oil prices have gone up sharply since the war began in late February.
If the Strait of Hormuz reopens as part of this deal, it would be huge for the world economy. Around 20 percent of the world’s oil passes through that narrow waterway.
Trump cancelled planned military strikes on Iran after progress in talks. But both sides have still been trading attacks this week, which put pressure on an earlier ceasefire from April.
The world is watching closely. A signed deal would be the biggest diplomatic moment of this conflict so far.
