Pakistan Announces 15-Man Pakistan Asian Games 2026 Squad With Farhan as Captain

PCB – (Web Desk) – The Pakistan Cricket Board has officially announced the Pakistan Asian Games 2026 squad, naming Sahibzada Farhan as captain for the tournament in Japan.

Farhan, 30, is an experienced T20 opener who has played 46 internationals for Pakistan, scoring 1,305 runs with two centuries and ten half-centuries. Abdul Samad will serve as his deputy.

The squad includes familiar names like Saim Ayub, Usman Khan, Abrar Ahmed, and Salman Mirza. Haider Ali and Ahmed Daniyal return to the setup after being away for some time.

Four players — Akif Javed, Ali Raza, Maaz Sadaqat, and Saad Masood — are yet to earn their first T20I cap for Pakistan, making this a big opportunity for them.

The Asian Games cricket event will be held in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, running from September 24 to October 3, with ten teams competing for the gold medal.

Fourteen of the fifteen selected players will join the NCA White-Ball Camp in Lahore, starting June 15, ahead of the tournament.

Mike Hesson leads the support staff as head coach, joined by bowling coach Ashley Noffke and fielding coach Shane McDermott.
