BISE Lahore Considers Fully Paperless Exam Admission System

BISE Lahore Plans Complete Online Admission Process For Students

ISLAMABAD: (Web Desk)- The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Lahore is reviewing a proposal to introduce a completely paperless admission process for matriculation and intermediate examinations, a move that could benefit more than one million students every year.

Under the proposed system, students would be able to complete the entire admission process online without submitting physical copies of their examination forms. The initiative aims to make the application process more convenient while reducing administrative workload and paperwork.

Currently, candidates from both public and private institutions submit their applications digitally but are still required to provide hard copies of admission forms, leading to additional expenses and multiple visits to board offices.

According to officials, around 600,000 students appear in matriculation examinations under BISE Lahore annually, while over 500,000 candidates participate in intermediate examinations, making the board one of the largest educational examination bodies in Pakistan.

Education authorities believe the transition to a fully digital system would save time and costs for students while enhancing efficiency, transparency, and overall service delivery. The proposed reform is also expected to simplify document verification and minimize manual record handling.

Sources revealed that a final decision on the proposal is likely to be taken during the upcoming meeting of the Punjab Boards Committee of Chairmen (PBCC), which oversees policy coordination among educational boards across Punjab.

If approved, the initiative would represent a major step toward modernizing the examination system and providing a more accessible, efficient, and student-centered experience for learners throughout the province.
