Local police chief Antonio Borelli described the incident as a clear case of homicide, stating that investigators are now focused on determining the exact circumstances surrounding the killings.

Media reports noted that the area has witnessed at least 14 arson attacks involving vehicles used by migrant workers in recent months. Authorities believe tensions among migrant communities over farm employment opportunities, residency documentation, and housing arrangements may have contributed to the violence.
