Inquiry Launched After Fatal Police Shooting in Sindh
SHIKARPUR: (Web Desk) – A Station House Officer (SHO), Ali Hassan Jatoi, lost his life after being critically injured in a shooting incident in Shikarpur, according to police officials.
The incident took place near Phatak No. 2 in the Lakhi Ghulam Shah area, where police say a misunderstanding led to a fatal confrontation.
Authorities stated that a police team from Lakhi Ghulam Shah signalled a private vehicle carrying the SHO to stop. When the vehicle did not halt, officers opened fire, resulting in serious injuries to the SHO.

He was immediately shifted to a hospital but later succumbed to his wounds during treatment.
Following the incident, Incharge Jahan Khan of the Police Post, along with an accomplice, reportedly fled the scene. Police later recovered identification documents and other evidence from the site.
Senior Superintendent of Police Kaleem Malik confirmed that an inquiry committee has been formed under the supervision of Assistant Superintendent of Police Asif to investigate the incident.
Authorities have launched a formal investigation to determine responsibility and clarify the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
