Trump postpones delegation trip, Iran fails to finalize position
Islamabad/Washington/tehran-(Mudassar Iqbal/Specail Corrsponidnt/Web Desk/X Posts)-US President Donald Trump has said that he cancelled his envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner’s visit to Pakistan for talks with Iran, (Fox News)
According to officials, Washington decided to pause the trip after signals that Iranian leadership had not yet agreed internally on a single proposal. The visit was expected to facilitate backchannel diplomacy, with Pakistan playing a supportive regional role.
U.S. representatives said progress in talks would require Iran to present a consistent framework addressing key concerns, including nuclear commitments and regional security issues. Until then, the administration sees limited value in proceeding with high-level travel.

There has been no immediate response from Iranian officials, while Pakistani authorities indicated they remain open to hosting dialogue when conditions are more favorable.
The development reflects ongoing uncertainty surrounding efforts to revive structured engagement between Washington and Tehran, which have faced repeated delays over disagreements on terms and sequencing.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi departed Islamabad on Saturday, having arrived the day before for meetings with senior Pakistani officials to discuss peace talks with the United States.
Washington and Tehran held a first round of direct talks in the Pakistani capital two weeks ago, after agreeing a temporary ceasefire in the US-Israeli war with Iran, but the two sides are yet to hold to a second round.
