Global Journalists Arrive as Pakistan Hosts Islamabad Talks Event

ISLAMABAD: (Web Desk)- In Islamabad, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Atta Ullah Tarar stated that Pakistan has introduced a visa-on-arrival facility for international journalists covering the “Islamabad Talks,” although no media representatives from India are expected to attend.

Speaking to reporters, the minister shared that modern, fully equipped arrangements have been established at the Convention Center to support global media coverage, with the media center now fully functional.

He explained that special visa-on-arrival provisions have been extended to journalists arriving from countries such as Iran and the United States to ensure smooth and uninterrupted reporting of the event.

According to Tarar, over 100 foreign journalists have submitted visa applications so far, with 69 already approved. He added that members of the international media from China, Japan, South Korea, Germany, and other countries are arriving to cover the talks.

Responding to a question, the minister confirmed that no journalists from India will be present. He remarked briefly on the matter, saying Pakistan does not view itself in competition with India.

Tarar emphasized that Pakistan remains committed to an independent foreign policy and continues to act responsibly on the global stage. He also assured that the government is taking all necessary steps to facilitate journalists, aiming to project a positive image of the country through coverage of this significant diplomatic event.
