Punjab Assembly Joins Earth Hour to Promote Environmental Responsibility
LAHORE: (Web Desk) – The Punjab Assembly will observe Earth Hour by implementing energy-saving measures to promote environmental awareness.
Speaker Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan announced that all non-essential lights in the Assembly will be switched off from 8:30 pm to 9:30 pm as part of the global campaign encouraging responsible energy use.
He highlighted that Earth Hour is more than a symbolic activity, describing it as a worldwide movement aimed at drawing attention to the growing threats of climate change and environmental degradation. He stressed that these challenges require collective and practical action at all levels.
Punjab schools to reopen April 1 after closure
The Speaker reaffirmed the Assembly’s commitment to promoting eco-friendly policies, minimizing energy waste, and actively contributing to environmental conservation efforts.
He also urged citizens to take part in the initiative by turning off unnecessary lights during the designated hour, emphasizing that small actions can collectively make a meaningful impact on building a sustainable future.
