Pakistan Remittances Rise 0.7% Despite Middle East War
Overseas Pakistanis Send $3.7 Billion in Remittances During August
KARACHI: (Finance Reporter) – Remittances from overseas Pakistanis continued to show growth in August despite the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, rising 0.7 percent month-on-month.
According to the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), overseas Pakistanis sent $3.7 billion in remittances during August 2026, up 0.7 percent from July and 16.5 percent higher than the amount recorded in August 2025.
The central bank said Pakistan received a total of $7.3 billion in workers’ remittances during the first two months of the current fiscal year.
This compares with $6.4 billion received during the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year, representing a 14.7 percent increase year-on-year.
The continued rise in inflows provides support to Pakistan’s external account and reflects sustained contributions from overseas Pakistanis during the opening months of the new fiscal year.
