Pakistan Slump to Seven Wickets Down Against England

Birmingham: (Sports Desk) – Pakistan suffered a major batting collapse on the opening day of the third and final Test against England, reaching 100 for seven wickets before the lunch interval.

England captain won the toss and elected to bowl first at Edgbaston, putting Pakistan under immediate pressure with the ball.

Pakistan’s innings got off to a disastrous start as Saim Ayub was dismissed without scoring. Opening partner Azan Owais once again failed to make a significant contribution, departing after scoring just nine runs.

Abdullah Shafique was then dismissed by Robinson for three runs, while Shan Masood fell to Archer. Captain Babar Azam also failed to provide stability, losing his wicket after scoring seven runs.

Pakistan continued to lose wickets at regular intervals and went into the lunch break struggling at 100 for seven.

The match also marked the Test debuts of three Pakistani players — Ghazi Ghauri, Razaullah and Mohammad Imran Randhawa — who were included in the playing XI for the series finale.

Ghazi Ghauri received his Test cap from Saud Shakeel, while Razaullah was presented with his cap by Mohammad Abbas. Imran Randhawa received his Test cap from captain Babar Azam.

England entered the final Test with a commanding 2-0 lead in the three-match series and are looking to complete a clean sweep against Pakistan.
