Islamabad-(Mudassar Iqbal/News Desk)-The federal government has increased petrol prices by Rs55 per litre in response to rising global oil costs, which have been aggravated by the ongoing conflict between the United States, Israel, and Iran. The move reflects growing pressure on Pakistan’s domestic energy market due to surging international fuel prices.
The federal government has announced a Rs55 per litre increase in the prices of petrol and diesel. The new rates will take effect tonight at 12:00 AM.
Officials said the decision comes amid rising global oil prices, which have put pressure on Pakistan’s domestic fuel market. The price adjustment aims to align domestic petroleum rates with international trends and ensure stability in energy supply.

The announcement was made at a press conference by Petroleum Minister Ali Pervaiz Malik, alongside Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb, who emphasized that the hike was necessary to keep domestic fuel supplies stable and aligned with global market trends
