GB Apex Committee Condemns Violence, Plans Judicial Action
GILGIT: (Web Desk) – A high-level meeting of the Special Apex Committee was held on March 3, 2026, under the chairmanship of Caretaker Chief Minister Gilgit-Baltistan, Justice (R) Yar Muhammad, at the Apex Committee Room in Jutial, Gilgit. The session was attended by senior civil, military, and law enforcement officials, including the Commander FCNA, Interior Minister, Chief Secretary, Inspector General of Police, and Home Secretary.
The agencies presented reports detailing the loss of lives, damage to property, and destruction of government facilities caused by incitement during protests over the past two days. The meeting expressed deep sorrow over the terrorist acts carried out by malicious elements among the protesters, which resulted in casualties among law enforcement personnel and attacks on military posts and camps.

The committee reviewed the overall security and administrative measures in Gilgit-Baltistan and directed all agencies to implement strict, coordinated measures. The curfew imposed since March 2 to stabilize the region was also assessed.
Officials discussed the formation of a judicial commission to identify individuals responsible for inciting unrest and damaging government property. The committee stressed that those responsible for violence and attacks on public officials will be held accountable, and the writ of the state will be enforced without compromise.
The meeting underscored that maintaining law and order, safeguarding government facilities, and ensuring public safety remain top priorities. Authorities vowed to take all necessary steps to protect lives and property and to restore lasting peace in Gilgit-Baltistan.
