Indian government urges nationals to evacuate Iran amid rising tensions
NEW DELHI (Web Desk) – India’s Ministry of External Affairs has advised all Indian citizens in Iran to leave the country immediately amid rising tensions between Iran and the United States and fears of a potential American strike.
The Indian Embassy in Tehran posted a statement on social media urging citizens to depart Iran “as soon as possible through available means, including commercial flights,” citing the rapidly evolving situation.

The Ministry noted that approximately 10,000 Indian nationals usually reside in Iran. It urged all citizens and persons of Indian origin to exercise caution, avoid areas of protests or demonstrations, follow instructions from Iranian authorities, stay in contact with the embassy, and monitor local media updates.
This advisory comes ahead of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s scheduled visit to Israel on Wednesday. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has described the visit as a step toward forming a new alliance against “extremist enemies.”
