SBP announces bank holiday on 1st Ramazan for Zakat
SBP declares Zakat Deduction Day bank holiday nationwide
Islamabad (Web Desk) — State Bank of Pakistan has announced that all banks across the country will remain closed for public dealings on 1st Ramazan-ul-Mubarak, 1447 AH, which will be observed as Zakat Deduction Day.
According to the central bank’s notification, all public and private sector banks, development finance institutions (DFIs), and microfinance banks will suspend customer services on the said date.

However, the SBP clarified that employees of banks, DFIs, and microfinance banks will continue to attend office as per routine. The day will be treated as a normal working day for staff, except for public dealings.
