Atta Tarar Urges Opposition to Accept PML-N’s AJK Election Win

- Federal Information Minister Atta Tarar Rejects Allegations Over PML-N AJK Victory

Islamabad: (Special Reporter) – Federal Information Minister Atta Tarar has defended the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s (PML-N) performance in the Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) elections, saying the party secured a simple majority through public support and development-focused policies.

Speaking at a press conference, Tarar rejected allegations made by PPP leader Sharjeel Inam Memon, calling them baseless and urging critics to provide evidence for their claims. He added that questioning the credibility of the AJK elections would also invite scrutiny of elections held elsewhere, including in Sindh.

The minister said political competition is a normal part of democracy but stressed the importance of tolerance and respecting the public mandate. He maintained that voters supported the PML-N because of its record on development and governance.

Tarar also said the PML-N has consistently prioritized the development of Azad Kashmir. He noted that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had congratulated the PPP on its victory in Gilgit-Baltistan in the past and urged political parties to similarly acknowledge the PML-N’s electoral success in AJK.
