Mangla Power Grid Explosion Leaves Punjab, Islamabad, Azad Kashmir Dark
Mangla: (Our Correspondent) – A massive disruption in electricity supply occurred after an explosion in the voltage room of the power section at the Mangla Power Grid Station, leaving large parts of Punjab, Azad Kashmir, and the federal capital Islamabad in darkness.
According to a WAPDA spokesperson, the Mangla Power Grid Station was immediately shut down for safety reasons following the explosion. As a result, electricity supply was interrupted in several areas, including Chakwal, Kallar Kahar, Gujar Khan, Rawat, Kallar Syedan, Jhelum, Dina, Dadyal, Mirpur, Rawalpindi, and Islamabad.
WAPDA engineering teams immediately reached the site and began repair work to resolve the technical fault. Authorities said all available resources are being deployed to restore electricity, but the severity of the damage may cause delays in the restoration process.

Meanwhile, reports of power outages and voltage drops have also come from other parts of the country, indicating that the incident affected the Azad Kashmir National Power Grid as well. The public is facing severe difficulties due to the blackout, while hospitals, business centers, and households are demanding a speedy restoration.
Authorities have urged people not to pay attention to rumors and to rely only on official announcements regarding the restoration of electricity.
